DBT Skills Group in Central Alberta

This group provides practical tools for managing big emotions, building stability, and creating a life that feels worth living. It is a supportive, skills‑based group for adults who feel overwhelmed, reactive, or stuck.

🌱 What This Group Helps With

Many people come to DBT because they’re tired of:

  • Feeling emotionally flooded

  • Reacting in ways they later regret

  • Struggling in relationships

  • Feeling “too much” or “not enough”

  • Living in cycles of shame, avoidance, or burnout

This group teaches practical, evidence‑based skills to help you feel more grounded, in control, and connected.

🧠 What You’ll Learn

The group follows the four core DBT modules, taught in clear, everyday language:

1. Mindfulness

Skills to slow down, stay present, and respond instead of react.

2. Emotion Regulation

Tools for understanding emotions, reducing vulnerability, and managing intensity.

3. Distress Tolerance

Strategies for getting through overwhelming moments without making things worse.

4. Interpersonal Effectiveness

Communication skills for setting boundaries, asking for what you need, and strengthening relationships.

  • Feel overwhelmed by emotions

  • Struggle with impulsivity or reactivity

  • Want healthier relationships

  • Are navigating trauma recovery

  • Are working on substance use, self‑worth, or stability
